Free Checklist

Free masonry estimate photo checklist for brick and stone repairs.

No signup, no account. Use this checklist before sending photos for brickwork, stonework, repointing, parging, block, flat stone, or restoration in Acton, Georgetown, Halton Hills, or nearby West GTA areas. Better photos help Yogi understand the scope and give you the next step faster.

A good masonry estimate starts with context. The goal is not to take perfect photos, it is to show enough of the wall, foundation, chimney, porch, steps, or stone area that a mason can understand the material, access, and likely repair path.

Send these photos first

1. Wide photo

Stand back and include the full wall, front entry, chimney, porch, step, foundation, or stone feature.

2. Close-up photo

Move close enough to show mortar joints, cracks, loose brick, missing stone, flaking parging, or staining.

3. Side-angle photo

Take one photo from the side so any bowing, depth, movement, or ledge detail is visible.

4. Access photo

Show driveway access, grade, landscaping, porch height, or anything that affects staging and equipment.

Write one short note with the photos

Include the address or nearest major intersection, the type of work you think it needs, and whether the issue is getting worse. If there is water entering the home, say that first.

Project Type Helpful Detail Photo Tip
Repointing Mention loose, sandy, cracked, or missing mortar. Show both the worst joint and the full wall.
Parging Note flaking, hollow spots, water staining, or foundation cracks. Show the parging and the grade below it.
Stonework Share whether it is new stone, repair, matching, or replacement. Include the surrounding stone so the colour and pattern are clear.
Brickwork Say whether brick is loose, cracked, missing, or needs matching. Photograph the brick in daylight, not under a coloured porch light.

Do not worry about making it perfect

Phone photos are fine. Daylight helps, but the photos do not need to look polished. The most useful photo set is honest and complete: wide, close, side angle, and access.
